General Guidelines:

  • Each participant will be given 5 minutes to prepare their speech after receiving the topic.
  • Each speech should be between 4-5 minutes long. Participants will be penalized for exceeding the time limit.

Judging Criteria:

  • Content: How well the participant addresses the topic, and the clarity and relevance of their points.
  • Organization: The structure of the speech, including a clear introduction, body, and conclusion.
  • Delivery: Confidence, vocal clarity, use of gestures, and audience engagement.
  • Creativity: Originality in approach and examples used during the speech.

Topics will be assigned randomly and could range from serious to light-hearted subjects.

Participants are not allowed to use any external resources (notes, phones, etc.) for reference during the competition.

You Should

  • Prepare quickly.  You only have 5 minutes to brainstorm and outline key points for your speech.
  • Stay focused. Create a clear structure with an introduction, body, and conclusion.
  • Stick to the topic.
  • Use examples.  Personal experiences, hypothetical scenarios, or humorous anecdotes can really add that extra dimension!
  • Manage your time. 4-5 minutes, so you need to pace yourself to cover all your points without rushing or going over time.
  • Be confident.  Speak clearly, maintain good eye contact, and use body language effectively to engage the audience.
