General Admissions

Abu Dhabi University welcomes applications from students of all nationalities throughout the academic year, with new cohort intakes scheduled in Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer semesters. The following are required for admission.

EmSAT is required for specific programs. Please check the requirements for the program you intend to join.

Postgraduate Admission Requirements:

The following are the requirements for admission to our postgraduate courses in the UAE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a directly related discipline from an accredited university recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education.
  • A minimum CGPA of 2.0 on a 4.0-point scale.

  • Master degree in a directly related discipline from an accredited university recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education.
  • A minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0-point scale.
  • Personal assessment: applicants will be required to successfully complete a panel interview with the DBA’s Admission Selection Committe.
  • Work Experience: applicants must submit evidence of at least two (2) years of full-time work experience at a middle to upper management level

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a directly related discipline from an accredited university recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education.
  • A minimum CGPA of 2.5 on a 4.0-point scale.

Postgraduate Documents required for admission:

The listed documents need to submit for the admission

  • A fully completed ‘Application for Admission’ form.
  • Non-refundable application fee.
  • Copy of certified Bachelor degree certificate and transcript (attested by the UAE Ministry of Education for graduates of universities in the UAE).
  • Copy of the Emirates ID (if applicable).
  • One passport-sized photograph.
  • Copy of a valid passport and residency visa (if applicable).
  • Original equivalency letter issued by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education for any qualification issued outside the UAE.
  • A police clearance certificate ssued by any of the police departments located throughout the United Arab Emirates (UAE). For detailed information regarding the Police Clearance Certificate, please click here.

  • A fully completed ‘Application for Admission’ form.
  • Non-refundable application fee.
  • Copy of certified Master degree certificate and transcripts.
  • Copy of certified Bachelor degree certificate and transcript.
  • Copy of Emirates ID (if applicable).
  • One passport-sized photograph.
  • Copy of a valid passport and residency visa (if applicable).
  • Evidence of relevant work experience may be required.
  • An official score report of Academic IELTS (6.0), English EmSat (1400), IBT TOEFL (79) or ITP TOEFL (550) (ITP taken at Amideast Institute only).
  • A true copy of an equivalency letter from Ministry of Higher Education in UAE for applicants graduating from universities outside the UAE.
  • A police clearance certificate ssued by any of the police departments located throughout the United Arab Emirates (UAE). For detailed information regarding the Police Clearance Certificate, please click here.
  • An application letter of 500 -1000 words.
  • Success in the panel interview conducted by the College.

  • A fully completed ‘Application for Admission’ form.
  • Non-refundable application fee.
  • Copy of certified Bachelor degree certificate and transcript (attested by the UAE Ministry of Education for graduates of universities in the UAE).
  • Copy of the Emirates ID (if applicable).
  • One passport-sized photograph.
  • Copy of a valid passport and residency visa (if applicable).
  • Official transcripts and course syllabi from other universities for credit transfer if student would like to transfer courses to ADU.
  • Evidence of relevant work experience may be required (for Master of Strategic Leadership, and Master of Education in Educational Leadership programs).
  • Copy of Updated CV.
  • Two Recommendation letters for Master of Engineering Management.
  • A true copy of an equivalency letter from the UAE Ministry of Education for applicants graduating from universities outside the UAE, in addition to a true copy of the certified Bachelor degree certificate and transcript.
  • Original equivalency letter issued by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education for any qualification issued outside the UAE.
  • For programs taught in English an official score report of Academic IELTS (6.0), English EmSat (1400), IBT TOEFL (79) or ITP TOEFL (550) (ITP taken at Amideast Institute only).
  • For programs taught in Arabic such as Master in Law an official score report of Academic IELTS (4.5), English EmSat (950), IBT TOEFL (51) or ITP (550) (ITP taken at AmidEast Institute only), in addition to Arabic EmSat (1250).
  • No Objection letter from National Service Department (for Male Emirati students).
  • A police clearance certificate ssued by any of the police departments located throughout the United Arab Emirates (UAE). For detailed information regarding the Police Clearance Certificate, please click here.

Once an application and the required documents have been submitted, a response will be provided within one week from the date of submission. Admission offers are valid for one academic year only. A student who does not register within the same academic year will have to reapply. Students dismissed from other academic institutes for academic integrity offences will not be admitted to Abu Dhabi University.

All applications will be reviewed and evaluated on an individual basis. All documents received by Abu Dhabi University in connection with applications will become the property of Abu Dhabi University. Although they cannot be returned to the applicant, they will not be forwarded to another institution or duplicated for any other purpose.

Students submitting their applications to Abu Dhabi University must certify that the information they have provided is truthful and accurate. Non-disclosure of relevant information and false or misleading information will be grounds for rejection of the application or termination of enrolment.
