Exploring Grants, Collaboration, and Timelines for Faculty-Led Research and Innovation

Internal Faculty Research Funding Program

At ADU, we are committed to supporting faculty research that aligns with our strategic priorities. To achieve this, we offer the Internal Faculty Research Funding Program, which operates within the framework of faculty development.

Funding Opportunities

Currently, there are two funding opportunities available for our internal faculty:

(i) Research, Innovation, and Impact Grant

(ii) Teaching Scholarship and Institutional Effectiveness Grant

Funding Cap

For both funding opportunities mentioned above, research projects can receive a maximum of AED 50,000 in seed funding. However, if a project is submitted as a team proposal, it may be eligible for up to AED 100,000 in funding.

International Collaboration

We strongly encourage faculty members to explore opportunities for international collaboration. This aligns with ADU's Global Engagement Program (GEP), which aims to foster connections and partnerships on a global scale.

Timeline

The Internal Faculty Research Funding Program operates on a specific timeline aligned with the academic year. Typically, these funding opportunities commence at the beginning of the academic year. Faculty members are encouraged to submit their proposals during this period. After the submission deadline, there is an approximate two-month period dedicated to the review of the proposals, in line with the Proposal Assessment and Funding Criteria. Subsequently, the results and grant awards are announced to the applicants.
