Director of Al Ain Campus, and Director of the Centre for Smart Learning
Dr. Mohammad Fteiha joined Abu Dhabi University (ADU) in 2012 as Associate Professor of Special Education and Chair of the Education Department in ADU's College of Arts and Sciences in Al Ain. He was appointed Interim Campus Director for Al Ain in April 2016. Licensed by both Dubai Health Authority and the UAE's Ministry of Health as a speech therapy specialist, he previously worked as a speech therapist and autism specialist.
With an MA in Speech and Language Pathology and Communication Disorders from Jordan University, and a Ph.D. in Special Education from Amman Arab University for Graduate Studies, Dr. Fteiha's research focuses on assistive technology in inclusive education and special education, methods of teaching, working with families of children with special needs, inclusive practices and early intervention, and communication disorders. He published the Autism Encyclopedia, which is one of the few resources to address all aspects of the autism spectrum.
Dr. Fteiha has received several awards throughout his professional life including the Khalifa Award for Education, the Princess Haya Award for Special Education, and the Harvard Medical School Dubai Center's 'Tamayoz' Award for Health Care Professionals.
