Dr. Shakib Farhat is an educator and administrator with extensive experience in higher education and consulting. He holds a PhD and MSc in Electrical Engineering & Electronics from the University of Manchester, UK. Before joining Abu Dhabi University in 2022 as Dean of Student Affairs and Associate Professor in the College of Engineering, he was Executive Director for Academic and Student Affairs at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and Executive Dean of Engineering Technology and Science at the Higher Colleges of Technology, UAE.
Dr. Farhat has led change throughout his career by developing policies, strategies, and innovative programs to enhance education. He has a track record of leading local and international accreditation efforts, developing students through enhanced curricula informed by analytics, conducting consulting services, and building positive relationships with stakeholders. In addition to his extensive leadership experience, Dr. Farhat has taught as an Associate Professor with published research and has worked in the UK, Singapore, Lebanon, and the UAE.
