Dr. Sarah Al Hashimi

Dr. Sarah Y. Al Sakkaf Al Hashimi joined Abu Dhabi University in 2009 and today she serves as the Associate Director of the University Development and Community Relations Department. She is responsible for strategic partnerships, external relations outreach, and developing projects and initiatives that position ADU nationally and internationally.  She is also responsible for overseeing development projects and related fundraising strategies, planning, and donor relationships including donor recognition and stewardship. 

Through her role, she also maintains a strategic relationship with major high net wealth donors, sponsors, foundations and corporate funders nationally and internationally.  She plays a significant role in developing university advancement and development policies, along with marketing and communication strategies.

Currently, she is leading major social responsibility fundraising initiatives with our strategic partner Zakat Fund, in managing Zakat Funds and donations towards education and other Sadaqat and donations via Emirates Red Crescent and Ma’an to empower and support well deserving families and youth. 

Sarah’s main objective was to ensure that Education is a right for everyone, especially in empowering youth and feeding their valuable time in giving back to their own country.

She was recognized and awarded for her achievements by the Ministry of Interior, Abu Dhabi Police, Al Maktoum Foundation, and the Zakat fund for raising and managing funds for education.

Al Sakkaf graduated with a high school average of 99.1% in 2005, obtained her Bachelor's in Finance in 2009 her MBA in 2011 and her Ph.D. in 2022. Her interests are research in the field of corporate social responsibility towards Education in specific.

Al Sakkaf is certified in fundraising management (CFRE), from Indiana University-Lilly Family School of Philanthropy and a graduate of the protocols school of Washington.

She is a member of the CASE-Council of Advancement and Support of Education and a member of BETA GAMMA SIGMA, the exclusive international business and academic honor society, associated with AACSB.
