My name is Lina Saad El-Din, and I am an ADU Public Health alumna. During my four years of study in the College of Health Sciences, I worked as a volunteer in many activities and events and gained experience as a statistics assistant.

In my senior year, I undertook an internship at Emirates International Hospital and joined the hospital full-time as a Patient Experience Executive six months after graduation.

Thanks to the knowledge, skills, and experience I gained at ADU, I was selected as the hospital's Employee of the Month after only six months of employment!

I always hear people around me asking the same questions:
What if I had done this thing instead of that thing?
Taken that path instead of whatever path I'm already on, And it's natural to wonder, right?
But being an Emirati woman, especially today, I want to ask a different question
Because real empowerment it isn't just lip service —
It's education to the world's highest standards,
It's opportunities that, years ago, would've seemed IMPOSSIBLE
It's measurable, intentional support at every level,
From the highest leadership to the smallest institutions,
It's actual representation, not just filling seats in boardrooms,
It's not a show. It's real steps. And countless accomplished Emirati women are living proof.
Sure it's the safest place on Earth to be a woman.
But you know what else?
It's the best environment for your ambitions too,
So the question isn't whether you should take this path or that,
The question for every Emirati woman is: how far will your ambition take you?
Because the stage is set.
And creating history… is up to you.

Introduction

Sustained economic growth cannot be achieved without social inclusion as the whole of society has a role to play in the development of a country. Federal Law No. 13 of 1972 and its amendments by the law (No.2) in 2001 was issued by the Ministry of Community Development.

(MOCD) as the first law to provide social benefits to members of the community to ensure and sustain the high quality of living for all UAE citizens. The Ministry continues to work today on enhancing social inclusion for all members of society where social benefits are extended to cover twenty-one segments of the community.

The UAE government has a future vision to change the culture of social support from the current ‘social welfare’ model to ‘sustainable social development’ that encourages independence and growth of families across the UAE.
