Professor Talaat Dowidar started his journey with Abu Dhabi University, Al Ain campus, in the Spring Semester 2021/2022. Before this, he held the position of Dean of the College of Law at Alexandria University in Egypt, as well as academic positions in seven countries.
He received a Ph.D. in Civil and Commercial Procedures Law in 1992, a Master of Private Law in 1984, and a Bachelor of Law in 1981 from Alexandria University. Twenty-seven scientific publications evidence his rich research career.
Professor Talaat Dowidar holds several memberships in professional law societies. He has mentored postgraduate students and research fellows and was key in establishing research groups and research centers for law practitioners across the Middle East.
His vision is to ensure the College of Law at Abu Dhabi University’s Al Ain campus cultivates self-efficacy and produces graduates who are confident in their capability and ready to make a significant and positive impact on justice in their communities.
His mission is to work extensively to secure academic accreditation, introduce a doctoral degree program, and broaden the reach of the College of Law to ADU’s Dubai campus. Another key aim is to enhance effective communication and collaboration channels with all sectors across the UAE.
