Overview
The Arab Universities Knowledge Network for Climate Change and Carbon Footprint is a collaborative platform uniting Arab universities in a concerted effort to address the pressing challenges of climate change. Recognizing the critical role of higher education in driving climate action, The AUKNCCF aims to:
- Foster cutting-edge research: Encourage and support collaborative research projects among member universities on climate change impacts, mitigation strategies, and adaptation solutions.
- Disseminate Knowledge: Share insights and best practices through publications, workshops, and conferences, encouraging universities to advocate for sustainability and climate change action both within their communities and through sustainable operations.
- Empower Action: Assist in the creation and operation of Carbon Footprint Centers at member universities to foster sustainability and minimize environmental impact. Support univeristies in developing policies and operational frameworks that promote sustainability across their campuses.
- Influence policy: Engage with policymakers and stakeholders to advocate for climate-resilient policies and sustainable development in the Arab region.

Governance Structure
The Arab Universities Knowledge Network for Climate Change and Carbon Footprint is hosted by Abu Dhabi University and governed through a multi-stakeholder approach, ensuring inclusivity and a wide range of perspectives. The network operates under the guidance of the Arab Council for Social Responsibility (ACSR), which functions under the Association of Arab Universities. It will include representatives from member universities, government and international agencies, research institutions, and other relevant stakeholders.
