Dr. Huettig is an aeronautical engineer by profession and spent almost 40 years working in various sectors of the aviation industry before joining ADU in October 2016. He worked with Airbus Industrie in France, was Managing Director of the Flight Simulation Training Center for Airbus aircraft, and professor and head of the Air Transportation Department at the Technical University of Berlin, where he also obtained his Ph.D. In addition, he was a licensed Airbus pilot with over 4000 flight hours. Before joining ADU, he worked as project director and consultant for German government aviation-related projects in developing countries.
“The aviation industry is still a growing sector and an important contributor to the economy - the aviation sector in the UAE makes up almost 15% of the GDP. My drive is to instill in future aviation professionals a thorough understanding of what is important in the industry, as well as the complex role of the numerous stakeholders and how all these roles integrate within this dynamic industry.
