A forum to discuss about equality, talent, leadership, and opportunities for women in the UAE (and elsewhere) in an open and serious space.
Women Entrepreneurs and Innovators Forum
Our goal is to help women collaborate, discuss openly, and succeed at their joint goals creating an intimate and serious space for diversity, equality, and inclusion. We strive to be a Forum that, with our academic rigor and passion for research and experimentation, complements other initiatives in the UAE, such as Aurora50, the General Women’s Union, Abu Dhabi Business Women Council, or the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children.
We aim to guide public or private, novel or established organizations in their efforts towards a comprehensive balance of economic and technical goals, and social and environmental impacts, in line with the UN’s sustainable development goal 5 (SDG 5) of gender equality.
The Women Entrepreneurs and Innovators Forum is transversal to what we do in ADUi, and permeates all our other Labs, Hubs, and Workshops. The Forum informs ADUi actions towards more inclusive policy designs, more equal network and collaborative ventures, and fully open approach to use research, data, and technology to leverage women driven innovation and leadership.
ADUi’s approach for the Forum addresses each challenge in an interdisciplinary, collaborative way, irrespective of the problem, sector, geography, and implementation level.
Optimize the positive impact of the innovation
Vision
To optimize the positive impact of the innovation and entrepreneurship research, education, and training for Abu Dhabi University students, faculty, staff, established companies, government, and communities of reference. In ADUi, we collaborate 1) to (research and innovation pillars) nurture conditions for the (incubation pillar) realization of personal and group potentials, economic and environmental values, and inclusive and sustainable societal improvement. And 2) to contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and the UAE’s innovation strategy through sustainable and inclusive research, innovation, and incubation strategies.
Act as mediators between our community
Missions
To offer a sheltered space for discussion and networking open to women of any condition, origin, education, and rank that strengthens the society’s mindset towards equality.
To serve as a seed for research on women innovation, motivations, and intents.
To be a catalyzer for change in society towards more diverse, equal, and inclusive policy-making, decision-making, and strategy design.
To provide a testing ground for applications, initiatives, actions, training techniques geared towards women empowerment and gender equality in employment.
What we do in the Women Entrepreneurs and Innovators Forum
- Building a community-based space where women come together and share experiences.
- Bridging theory and practice, learning from those links, and providing real paths that ground policy, decisions, and strategies in public and private organizations.
- Testing and exploring new approaches to diversity, equality, and inclusion to build and strengthen women abilities in whatever role they play in organizations, society, and their ecosystems.
- Coordinating with UAE women organizations and excellent world-class (public and private) projects for the betterment of women anywhere.
