Japanese Embassy Gifts ADU with Contemporary Book Collection
The Japanese Embassy gifted Abu Dhabi University (ADU) with a collection of contemporary books on Japanese culture during a visit to the University’s main campus in Abu Dhabi, on behalf of The Nippon Foundation, a Japanese non-profit organization. The collection of books provide in-depth insight on history, society, arts, and business in Japan.

The Japanese Embassy gifted Abu Dhabi University (ADU) with a collection of contemporary books on Japanese culture during a visit to the University’s main campus in Abu Dhabi, on behalf of The Nippon Foundation, a Japanese non-profit organization. The collection of books provide in-depth insight on history, society, arts, and business in Japan.
H.E. Akihiko Nakajima, Japanese Ambassador to the UAE, presented ADU’s Chancellor, Professor Waqar Ahmad, with a collection titled “100 books for understanding contemporary Japan”. The Ambassador also toured ADU’s campus and its facilities, with the Chancellor elaborating on the long-term vision for the University, including the new Al Ain Campus opening its doors later this year.
ADU’s multicultural student body represents more than 80 nationalities, with members of the community from across the globe. The Japanese embassy are coordinating with ADU to nominate one Japanese exchange student for the next academic year.
The occasion took place in line with the Year of Tolerance, which encourages opportunities for cultural and academic exchange, and promoting inclusivity as a core value of society.
