Students from ADU’s Public Health program were proud to represent ADU at the recent NeSMAH Inaugural Event held at NYU Abu Dhabi. NeSMAH (Network of Students in Medicine and Health) is a UAE-wide, inter-university student association comprised of students studying and seeking careers in health and medicine. The event served to establish the founding parameters of the organization.
Bibi Sara Khan, Mona Abu Suleiman, Hajra Hussain Amoodi, Zainab Ahmed Salim, Tesnim Hatab and Hiba Ramadan, from both our Abu Dhabi and Al Ain campuses, participated in an exchange of thoughts and ideas on how the organization should be structured and operated through fun ice-breaker exercises, useful networking activities, and thought-provoking brainstorming sessions. Dr. Kendra Guilford and Dr. Rania Al Dweik joined the students as their mentors. Speaking about the event, Dr Guilford said, “I am delighted by the enthusiasm I witnessed on the day and how well the students represented ADU - they were clearly a great asset to the day’s proceedings. We thank the Student Affairs Department for sponsoring the trip and facilitating the students’ participation”.
