Dissemination of Good Practice Workshops
ADU Smart Learning Centre will be organizing several workshops in each academic year for ADU faculty on themes such as instructional design for hybrid/online learning, experiential learning, gamified learning, project-based learning, flipped classroom model, rubrics, and assessments, syllabus design, and inclusiveness in higher education. These workshops would provide the opportunity for continuous professional development to ADU faculty so that they can develop competencies required for impactful delivery of face-to-face, blended and online courses. Besides improvement in teaching through technical training, these workshops also aim to sensitize faculty to the affective aspects of classroom practice such as student and teacher motivation and empathy for learners through awareness about their socio-cultural backgrounds. Finally, through ‘dissemination of good practices workshops’, the center seeks to support pedagogical excellence at ADU by increasing faculty knowledge, enhancing their skills, and promoting reflection on practice. The center also intends to serve as a platform for sharing pedagogical knowledge, ideas, and experiences taking into account protean academic contexts, 21st-century job market requirements, and life overall.
