Mr. Suvo Sarkar is a distinguished retail banking professional with over 30 years of multi-functional experience with five leading financial institutions in multiple countries across the Middle East and Africa. He is currently Senior Executive Vice President and Group Head of Retail Banking, Private Banking, and Wealth Management in Emirates NBD, the largest bank by customer base and brand value in the UAE. He is also Executive Chairman of two of the bank’s key subsidiaries: ENBD Asset Management, the largest asset management company in the UAE, and ENBD Securities, one of the leading brokerage houses in the country.
In 2015, Mr. Sarkar was recognized as Retail Banker of the Year in the Middle East at the Asian Banker’s Excellence in Retail Financial Services Awards. In 2017, the MIT Sloan Business Review and Khaleej Times nominated him the Digital Leader for the Middle East.
Mr. Sarkar is well regarded as a thought leader in the banking industry. With an established reputation as an innovator, he publishes a monthly ‘Voice of Innovation’ column on trends and changing paradigms in banking. He also serves on the Advisory Boards of two leading educational institutions - Abu Dhabi University and GEMS Modern Academy.
