The Academic Programs for Military Colleges is a strategic academic partnership between Abu Dhabi University and GHQ Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates.

Its aim is to produce highly qualified graduates to meet the future needs of GHQ.

About the program

 1. Develop qualities of leadership in officer-cadets and officers;


2. Prepare students for a career in the profession of Military


3. Provide adequate Islamic, legal, cultural, political, strategic, historic, scientific and technological knowledge


4. Arm students with skills in scientific research, administration and languages


5. Provide the necessary skills to manage their future leadership tasks and functions competently


Program educational objectives and student outcomes

  • After successfully completing the program requirements, graduates will be able to:
  • Plan strategically and lead effectively.
  • Analyze areas of operations.
  • Manage marine, land and air operations.
  • Conduct research and studies in the military field.
  • Communicate and develop knowledge and experiences.

Entry requirements

Students in the Staff Officer course at Joint Command and Staff College in Abu Dhabi:

The applicant must meet the following conditions:

  • Is an admitted to the staff officer course at Joint Command and Staff College in Abu Dhabi.
  • Holds the General Secondary School Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Has Graduated from one of the three following colleges: Zayed II Military College – Khalifa Air College - Naval College and have successfully completed a study of (16) accredited course in the program.
Graduates of Previous Staff officer classes:
  • Have to meet the above conditions except the first one, where instead they must have passed the requirements of the staff officer course.
